educational profile: academic

language: english

Program Description

The undergraduate studies programme within our department is fully compatible with both the Polish and Vatican regulations regarding first-cycle studies however, it also contains elements that are unique for our faculty. Studies last for three years (six semesters) and are organized so that the student makes consequent steps towards the desired learning outcomes: a solid base of philosophical knowledge and the development of typical philosophical skills and competences,  including:

  • critical thinking
  • intellectual independence
  • the readiness for instant development
  • flexible thinking
  • the ability to develop non-standard solutions
  • methods for an effective organization of work
  • argumentation based on reason
  • resistance to manipulation

Classes include lectures, seminars, and discussions. All of these are delivered entirely in English and are conducted in a cosy atmosphere with an emphasis on the high quality of education. Learning outcomes are verified by assessments. In most cases, these are oral, essays, or in seminars where the student’s participation is the subject of assessment. Students also work individually with teachers. Each of our students is treated as a unique individual with genuine needs and their own path of development. We help to organize studies so that our students are able to work and study, or study another field simultaneously.
