24.03.2020 6 PM (CET) dr. Roman Krzanowski, Machine Ethics. Why do We Talk About It?

This lecture is a brief  introduction to the questions - Can an autonomous robot be ethical in a meaningful sense or in any sense at all and whether we can create synthetic ethical systems?  In the lecture we will signal several problems in the ethics of autonomous robot including the question of Ethics, ethics and deep ethics, Multi-Agent Ethics, Supra-Ethics, ethical singularity, Black Box ethics, Explainable AI and Ethics, Disembodied ethics, Ontology of Ethics, Moral Turing Tests, Social Robots, Phronetic  Robotics,  Aristotelian vs Cartesian AI,  Synthetic Minds, WBE, and DSM-5. The detailed answers and discussion would however take the full semester course, at least.
